Are St. Louis Protesters Affecting Cubs Clincher Ticket Prices? | Chicago, IL Patch

CHICAGO, IL — Cubs fans have taken to Facebook and other social media sites to celebrate low ticket prices for the Central Division title in St. Louis on Wednesday. The third-party platform StubHub.com is selling tickets for as low as $6. Some have speculated that protesters in St. Louis may be impacting ticket prices, however Busch Stadium representatives said that’s unlikely.

The demonstrators then marched downtown and blocked off a central intersection, where the parents of young men killed by police gave speeches.

When contacted, Busch Stadium communications representatives said it’s unlikely the protests are affecting ticket prices. They said their value-based dynamic pricing model isn’t usually affected by demonstrations or other traffic concerns; however they weren’t able to give any other reasons for the unusually low prices.
