Avocados among first Whole Foods products to get cheaper | Daily Mail Online

Avocados, bananas, eggs and organic butter are among food products that will be made cheaper at Whole Foods on Monday in the first wave of price cuts by new owner Amazon.

While it’s not yet been made clear exactly how much prices will drop, health fanatics will see a reduction in their favorite grocery staples such as kale, salmon, tilapia, baby lettuce and rotisserie chicken.

At present, the cost of an organic banana in Whole Foods’ New York City stores is 36 cents and organic Hass avocados are $2.50 a pop.

A classic rotisserie chicken is $13.99 and a 5oz pack of mixed baby kale costs $3.99. A dozen large brown eggs is $4.29, a 4oz pack of organic butter is $1.32 and 1 litre of whole milk is $1.39.
