Bhopal: Not GST, dynamic pricing pain in the neck, say air travellers | Free Press Journal

Bhopal: Business class passengers travelling to Delhi, Mumbai or Lucknow from Bhopal by air will have to shell out more money for their tickets after the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). However, economy class travel has become cheaper. However, air passengers say it is not the GST but dynamic pricing that is the pain in the neck for them.

Under the new regime, the GST Council has lowered the tax rate for economy class flight tickets to 5 per cent. However, the business class tickets are attracting higher tax at 12 per cent after GST implementation from July 1.

Now, the airfare from Bhopal to Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow will be between Rs 17,000 and Rs 25,000 for executive or premium class passengers. For economy passengers on the same routes the fares would settle between Rs 4,000 and Rs 9,000.
