New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), the country’s second-largest fuel retailer, plans to ramp up focus on the highway retail segment in order to arrest the decline in the company’s diesel market share. Company officials are mulling ways— including strategic pricing, upgraded loyalty programme and changing the look of retail outlets – to bring about the shift.

“We are now concentrating heavily on the highway front. So, various initiatives are being taken. We are engaging with all the stakeholders in a far more effective manner after this fall. Therefore, consistent service is one thing which we will be aiming at all our highway outlets,” K Sivakumar, Director Finance at BPCL told analysts at a recent conference call.
