Petrol pumps to go on strike on Friday | Times of India

The pump owners will stop purchase of fuel from companies for one day and if the demands are not met they will go on indefinite strike after Diwali. The United Petroleum Front, the apex body of the petrol pump owners, announced the decision to go on strike on Saturday.

The daily dynamic pricing has been in place for the past three months with the consumers complaining of many price increases since then. Currently, the price of petrol is Rs 78 per litre in the city with an increase of Rs 11 since the daily dynamic pricing was implemented. The rates had touched Rs 80 per litre last month which had angered the citizens. The pump operators claim that they have to face the public anger whenever the price increases.
