Pink tax event to be held on March 28 for Women’s History Month | The Daily Nebraskan

An event covering gender inequity in retail pricing will close out the celebration of Women’s History Month at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

University Housing’s Multicultural Awareness and Diversity Education committee will host “The Pink Tax” event in the Harper Dining Center conference room on Thursday, March 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Matt Papa, MADE’s committee chair, said the term  “pink tax” refers to the higher price of products and services that are marketed specifically for women compared to the prices for male or non-gendered items.

He said the committee will set up the event like a gallery where attendees can walk through and experience different elements, including activities and videos.
