Trend in car pricing? At least one local car dealer says goodbye to haggling (video) | WDBJ7.com

ROANOKE, Va. – On a sunny spring day Brian Davis is shopping for a new vehicle.  Davis has hie eye on a black sedan with navigation at the Duncan Acura lot on Peter’s Creek Road in Roanoke.

Davis admits he loves shopping for cars, but he doesn’t enjoy negotiating price. ” I get tired of negotiating the price of a car,” he said.

Brian Davis is not alone.  Research shows the  majority of car buyers don’t like haggling over price.

“68 percent of the customers said they hate negotiating for a car. They refer to it as  like going to get a root canal,” said Gary Duncan, owner of several Duncan retail locations in Southwest Virginia.

That’s one reason Duncan made the decision to change the pricing strategy at four Duncan properties including Duncan Audi and Duncan Acura in Roanoke and Duncan Hokie Honda and Duncan Hyundai in Christiansburg.
