Uber passengers in several cities across the country took to Twitter to complain of a glitch that charged riders 100 times more than advertised fares, costing some thousands of dollars for trips that should have only been a few bucks.

In one of the worst cases, Aaron Himelman said his wife was charged $9,672 for a trip that should have cost $96.72. Another social media user said her husband’s card was left maxed out after the ride-sharing app charged him $1,905 for a ride that should have been $19.05.
